New BYD Yangwang U9 Can Jump

BYD, responsible for the recently released Atto 3 in the UK, is launching a new electric supercar that can jump.

The new Yangwang U9 was unveiled at an event at BYD’s headquarters in Shenzhen and showcases the Chinese carmaker’s new DiSus-X body control system.

This hi-tech system comes in three branches. DiSus-C is the ‘Intelligent Damping Body Control System’, DiSus-A is the ‘Intelligent Air Body Control System’ and DiSus-P is the ‘Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System’.

It allows the Yangwang U9 to tilt or ‘dance’ from side to side and make a vertical jump whilst stationary. The manufacturer has not yet made clear the reasoning behind features like this, except that it enables the EV to drive with just three wheels.

BYD says the DiSus system is ‘the most advanced vehicle body control system of the industry globally’.

The new EV is being geared up for Chinese production with no plans for this type of technology to reach the UK anytime soon. However, with the introduction of the Atto 3 into UK markets, BYD could be a manufacturer worth keeping an eye on.
