Toyota is set to give its famous Land Cruiser model a significant electric transformation.

With the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show taking place later this week, the renowned Japanese carmaker has unveiled images of its latest creation: the Land Cruiser Se concept, a three-row SUV tailored for the electric era.

The new styling is in line with Toyota’s contemporary design language. A sleek roofline, angled bonnet, and heavily sculpted sides prioritise aerodynamics and efficiency. Slim wraparound light bars, a blacked-out C-pillar and flush door handles give the electric SUV a premium appearance.

This year’s Tokyo Motor Show will serve as a platform for Toyota to showcase its forthcoming generation of electric vehicles. Expected to debut in 2026, It is likely that the electric Land Cruiser concept will eventually become a production car.

Toyota has previously stated that its next generation of vehicles will feature slimmer battery packs with energy-dense lithium-ion technology to free up interior space and enhance aerodynamics. As a result, the Land Cruiser has a claimed 621-mile range.

The seven-seat SUV measures 5150mm in length, 1990mm in width and 1705mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3050mm. Toyota hopes that this new model will broaden the Land Cruiser brand’s appeal.
