DS Adds ChatGPT to Its Line-up

The popular ChatGPT artificial intelligence (AI) program is set to be added across the entire DS lineup by the end of this year.

ChatGPT is a generative AI model that employs natural language processing to produce humanlike conversational dialogues. It draws upon a vast amount of online data and employs specialised algorithms to identify patterns within data sequences.

Depending on your input, ChatGPT can answer questions and compose a range of written materials such as articles, social media posts, essays, code and emails.

The AI will be directly integrated within the DS voice recognition system and won’t require any specialised apps to access. All drivers need to do is press a button on the steering wheel to activate the voice command.

The addition of ChatGPT is expected to enhance the interactivity of DS cars, complementing the brand's existing voice recognition technology. This enhancement will enable vehicles to respond more comprehensively to a broader range of questions, offering information on nearby locations and creating entertaining quizzes for extended journeys.

Chief software officer at Stellantis, Yves Bonnefont, commented: “Even knowing all the inner workings and binary computations that allow ChatGPT to interact with its user, there is a certain fascination with how this conversational artificial intelligence model works. Its ability to interact is certainly one of the most striking applications of AI of the past year around the world.”

The DS 3, DS 4, DS 7 and DS 9 will all gain the new ChatGPT feature provided they’re fitted with the DS IRIS infotainment system.
