Fifth Generation Hyundai Santa Fe Gets Striking New Look

Hyundai has unveiled what the new Santa Fe will look like ahead of a full reveal next month.

The seven-seat SUV has undergone a radical redesign with a longer wheelbase and a squared-off rear to maximise cargo capacity.

The curved lines and rounded edges seen on the previous Santa Fe have been ditched in favour of a sharper and boxier exterior shape. This squarer design gives the car an old-school look that contrasts well against the futuristic full-width light bar and H-shaped headlights.

The side profile reveals a straight roofline which barely slopes toward the rear. Chunky octagonal wheel arches house 21-inch wheels and a large roof rack emphasises the Santa Fe’s rugged, off-road aesthetic.

At the rear, the body-coloured trim and window shape is reminiscent of newer Land Rover models. The ‘Santa Fe’ name has also been emblazoned across the boot lid.

Inside, the Land Rover similarities continue. A premium interior redesign introduces Nappa leather, a dual 12.3-inch screen and two wireless charging pads on the centre console. Further down the dash is a large control panel with physical dials for temperature and audio.

Exact specifications are yet to be revealed, however, we know that the new model won’t get an all-electric version as the IONIQ 7 will take up the large electric SUV spot within Hyundai’s line-up.
