Buyers have a few options for engine size with the Volkswagen Crafter. Power comes from an economical 2.0-litre diesel motor with four outputs available. 101, 121, 138 and a twin-turbo 174bhp engines are all available. The Crafter has a smooth drive and a light steering wheel which delivers a fast and responsive experience. The best mid-range engine would be the 138bhp as it has the best trade-off for price and torque.
The Crafter has plenty of space and can fit loads lengths of up to 4855mm with a standard height of 1860mm. You can opt for a Crafter with a higher roof which pushes the height to a total of 2196mm, or if you don't need it you can go for a lower roof option which is 1726mm. There are three gross weight Crafters available. A 3.0-tonne, 3.5-tonne and 5.0-tonne. The 3.5-tonne will transport up to 1447kg of weight in the back. A 1311 side sliding door is standard on all models with a 180-degree rear door for the Startline and 270 degree rear doors for the Trendline and Highline models.
