Volkswagen, or VW, is a German car manufacturer that was founded in 1937. It was actually founded after Adolf Hitler wanted a car that was reliable and affordable. Porsche won the contract and produced the “Volks-Wagen” prototype, which translates as the “People’s Car”. This later became the Volkswagen Type 1, or the Volkswagen Beetle, which was manufactured right up until 2003. VW’s subsidiaries include Skoda, Porsche, SEAT and more.
VW is known for quality and reliability. Its cars have long been popular for their simple but cutting-edge designs, and because it has a large portfolio of vehicles, there is something for every motorist.
Some of its most popular models include the Volkswagen Polo, Golf and Passat among other SUVs like the Volkswagen Touareg, Tiguan and T-Roc but there are many more vehicles to choose from. So if you are planning on leasing a car and you want a good combination of quality and affordability, a VW could be a great choice.
