New Mercedes-Benz EQT Concept

Mercedes-Benz have revealed the designs of their latest vehicle – a fully electric premium MPV that’ll slot into the small van segment.

The EQT will be a part of Mercedes’ new T-Class badge and will be a fresh and contemporary alternative to the ageing Citan.

Mercedes are looking to offer premium comfort, style and luxury into a segment where it is lacking. The EQT will be a seven-seater, focusing on families and private customers ‘keen on leisure activities’.

This new model has been built in partnership with Renault and will look to challenge established vans such as the Volkswagen Caddy, Vauxhall Combo and Citroen Berlingo.

Petrol and diesel variants of this van have already been spotted in testing, which will also join the EQT in the new T-Class division.

The exterior design of the EQT features many smooth and curved lines, the glowing star pattern on the front panel flows seamlessly to the front LED lights and rounded bonnet. A panoramic sunroof can be seen too, which when combined with the high-gloss black paintwork, seals the EQT’s premium appearance.

The interior will include Mercedes’ intelligent, self-teaching MBUX infotainment system that helps to create a high tech, futuristic-looking cabin.

The EQT’s spaciousness has also been highlighted in its concept design. The steeply sloping rear roof allows for extra room at the back and easily adjustable seats allow drivers to be flexible. Sliding doors on both sides will have a particularly large opening for increased ease of access to anyone sitting in the third row.

This dazzling EQT will likely be launched into the market at the beginning of 2022.
