New Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The Mercedes-Bens EQS SUV is the latest premium EV to join the German carmaker’s growing EQ range. The high-riding EQS follows in the footsteps of the saloon version that was revealed last year.

At launch, all models will be powered by a 107.8kWh battery that sits within the floor for a low centre of gravity. The wheelbase remains the same as its saloon sibling and will be able to seat 7 people if you choose.

The entry-level 450+ trim will produce 355bhp, 568Nm and will be able to travel 410 miles on a single charge.

An all-wheel-drive 4MATIC version will be available too that’s capable of producing the same bhp from a pair of electric motors as well as 800Nm of torque however this comes at the cost of about 30 miles of range.

The most powerful variant from launch is the EQS 580+ 4MATIC. Its all-wheel-drive system has 536bhp and 858Nm of torque. No precise performance details have been revealed by Mercedes yet, however, we can guess that the highest performing EQS SUV should be able to beat a 5 second 0-62mph.

As is expected, all EQS SUV trims will be supporting 200kW rapid charging which means charging from 10-80% power in just 30 minutes.

If you opt for a four-wheel-drive trim then you'll get an added Offroad setting which can raise the SUV's ride height by another 25mm. Mercedes' Hyperscreen is another option that combines the three screens in the cabin into one big interactive display, stretching from pillar to pillar.
