New Kia Sportage

Kia reveals its 5th generation Sportage that will go on sale later this year.

The new SUV comes with a bold look that takes many styling cues from Kia’s EV6. Its refreshed interior completes a car that will look to challenge the likes of the Peugeot 3008 and Volkswagen Tiguan when it goes on sale.

The exterior of the Sportage has many sharp defining lines, most notably running vertically across the bonnet, beneath the door handles and at the rear, beneath a full-width light bar. Figures have not yet been released on the exterior dimensions or boot capacity.

On the inside, the driver will be met with a long and curved infotainment system that is set into the dashboard and combines with the digital instrument cluster. This will likely be two 10.25 inch displays like what can be seen in the Hyundai Tucson.

Details on the engine or drivetrains haven’t been revealed yet but again it is likely to be similar to the Hyundai Tucson. A Sportage X-Line is also due which will feature a curved roof rack, lower side skirts and a new front bumper.

The Sportage will have a dedicated European trim, but it is not yet known what the differences will be.
