New Ford Fiesta facelift

The Ford Fiesta so often sits atop Britain’s best-selling vehicles list at the end of the year, but with the Vauxhall Corsa leading in new car registrations in 2021, the Fiesta is receiving a well-timed facelift.

Deliveries on the hatchback will begin early next year (2022). The refreshed Fiesta will welcome new styling, interior updates as well as extra tech.

An enlarged grille containing the iconic blue oval badge will be present across all of the new models. A raised car nose and new LED lights cap off a more fierce-looking Fiesta.

On the Sporty ST-Line trim the honeycomb mesh grille gets a glossy black shine and a more deeply sculpted lower grille.

The Fiesta Active trim rides higher than the other models and comes with plastic body cladding and vertical grille bars at the front.

The sides of this Ford remain unchanged and at the rear you will see a set of darkened taillights. There’ll be seven new wheel designs and two new colours; Boundless Blue and Beautiful Berry.

There’s a slight reshuffle to the model line-up which begins with the Trend, Titanium, ST-Line and ST. The old Vignale trim doesn’t survive the new refresh.

New infotainment and safety technology has been brought into what remains a similarly structured cabin. There’ll be a 12.3” screen and 3 driving modes; Normal, Sport and Eco. The Active trim will gain additional Trail and Slippery driving modes too.

The ST trim will be powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine as the previous car, which can deliver 197 horsepower and 320Nm of torque. These combine to provide a 0-62mph of 6.5 seconds.
