New Audi A6 e-tron

The new A6 Audi e-tron will be the first saloon to run on Audi’s new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture for electric cars, and will join their well-established A6 line-up, ahead of its 2023 launch date.

The PPE platform provides a flat floor that allows for a lower roofline, without sacrificing space on the inside. Its dimensions are slightly bigger than the current A6, making it very much an executive saloon.

The exterior design of this concept is very contemporary, as expected. Its body is smooth and curved with barely any sharp edges. Its closed-off grille and sloping rear window help to consolidate its minimalist and futuristic look.

Despite its flat flooring, Audi has still found room to house a battery that is capable of giving this saloon a predicted range of over 434 miles. It’s also estimated that the quickest variants will be able to exceed a 0-60mph of 4 seconds.

Its 100kWh battery will be compatible with 270kW charging that can get you around 186 miles of range in just a 10-minute charge.

Another notable addition to this car is its use of OLED technology in a full-width tail light bar. The design is bold and striking and offers the potential to customise the light signature.

The cool lighting features don’t end there. Projectors on the sides and corners of the car are capable of projecting images onto the floor and the headlights can project images onto walls when parked. This allows for drivers to play projected video games when parked, or charging.

Rear-wheel drive and Quattro versions of this A6 will also be expected upon its launch in a couple of years time.
