New Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept

A year on from revealing the A6 e-tron concept, Audi has now released images of the forthcoming Avant model.

The executive EV estate showcases Audi’s latest luxury design language and pioneering drive technology that will feature on its electrically powered premium class. The German manufacturer says that the concept car is close to completion.

The A6 Avant e-tron sits upon the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform that it shares with the A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron SUV concepts. The 800V architecture is compatible with 270kW charging which can provide 186 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The battery on board the estate will be about 100kWh in size and should be capable of providing around 435 miles of WLTP driving range.

The finished production version will come in a few variants that include a rear-wheel-drive/single motor option and an all-wheel-drive/dual-motor option. The quickest Quattro all-wheel-drive trim offers a total of 469bhp, 800Nm and a 0-62mph under 4 seconds.

ICE-powered versions of these luxury EV A6 concepts will be made by Audi too.

Digital cameras function as door mirrors and LED digital matrix headlights are capable of projecting video games onto the wall in front as you charge your car. A full-width OLED tail-light bar ensures that the A6 secures its premium appearance.

Details on boot space haven’t been revealed by Audi yet. The A6 Avant e-tron is expected to arrive in 2024, a year after the saloon model is due to hit the road.
