The New Nissan Ariya is due to arrive later this year. The Japanese car manufacturers are looking to build upon their EV success established by the LEAF with the Ariya that is set to expand the ever growing electric crossover bracket.

This car has all the ingredients to be a top electric vehicle with its cutting edge design, features and specifications.

The exterior of the car looks fresh and modern. The front features Nissan’s ‘shield’ design with a glossy ‘kumiko’ pattern under the surface. The logo at the front will be illuminated with 20 LEDs and a low coupé roofline gives it a dynamic image.

The interior is similarly silky with haptic feedback buttons built into the dashboard and two 12.3” touchscreen displays. The two screens will be able to operate separately from each other or together, allowing information to be swiped from one to the other.

There’s ample legroom throughout the car due to the flat flooring plus the presence of high-end materials, textured surfaces and a ‘glowing lantern’ gives the inside a luxurious feel.

Currently, two battery sizes can come with the Ariya. At the lower end, a 63kWh motor will provide 215bhp and a range of 223 miles. At the upper end, an 87kWh battery gives 239bhp and a 310-mile range. Both versions will be able to achieve a 0-62 mph of 7.5 seconds.

3 driving modes will come with this EV; Standard, Sport and Eco. The development chief of the Ariya, Makoto Fukuda, said that the car was designed for “maximum, usable performance in a wide range of driving conditions”.

Further features include voice control that can be activated by saying ‘Hey/Hello Nissan’. 4G connectivity means the car can receive over-the-air updates and smartphone integration allows drivers to adjust settings before heading out on a trip.

The New Nissan Ariya is expected to be an innovative EV for the crossover market upon its release in late 2021. A very versatile car suitable for many different types of people, the Aria is definitely worth considering if you’re making the switch to electric.
